Let's Talk

I’m here to help care organisations build confident leaders, stronger cultures and outstanding care. Our work together is rooted in your organisation’s values — not as aspirations, but as the specific behaviours and decisions that define how your organisation actually leads. Once we’ve turned your values into leadership behaviours we can then build confident, well led cultures within social care.

My strategic work integrates coaching, consultancy and leadership development into a coherent  whole – because lasting change in care organisations rarely comes from one intervention alone.

I don’t provide temporary fixes, instead I partner with organisations to build sustainable leadership maturity that impacts both regulatory and financial outcomes.

Does this sound familiar?

Your care organisation operates in constant reactivity: responding to inspections, staffing challenges and compliance pressures without the time to think strategically. Leaders are promoted without structured development, cultures default to command-and-control, and accountability generally sits with one person.

That’s where I come in as a consultant, strategist and executive coach.

Who do I work with?

I partner with ambitious care organisations to help them strengthen leadership culture at senior and board level. This ensures performance, morale and compliance are not dependent on one person, but instead are embedded across the organisation.  The providers I work with usually have a number of services, a senior leadership team under pressure and a desire to move from reactive management to reflective, sustainable leadership culture.

I can support you around team culture, healthcare leadership, care and support statutory guidance and CQC compliance.

I provide strategic support to care providers: CEOs, owners, boards and senior leaders. Executive coaching is part of this work, within a wider organisational strategy. My work with you will strengthen your leadership standards and improve leadership capability and capacity.

What makes Lumina Leadership different from other consulting firms?

The big difference from traditional consultancy is the depth of my sector experience combined with my expertise in both training and executive coaching. I bring nearly 30 years of senior leadership in social care, including leading services from Inadequate to Outstanding. As an ILM-qualified and EMCC Senior Practitioner executive coach, I combine strategic oversight with relational depth, embedding coaching cultures, developing psychological safety, strengthening reflective leadership and aligning values with governance.

Organisations look to me when they are serious about strengthening leadership, improving culture and accountability, and embedding high performance.

How can we work together?

There are five ways to work with me. Each is available as a standalone offer, or you can combine them – many clients move through more than one over time.

A clear picture of where you are – and what’s possible.

Before you can build the culture you want, you need an honest account of the one you have. The Lumina Culture Review gives senior leaders a structured, evidence-informed assessment of their organisation’s current leadership culture: what’s working, where the gaps are, and what’s driving the behaviours you’re seeing.

This is not an inspection or an audit. It’s a professional, confidential process designed to give you a clear, honest picture of where you are now. I look at how leadership is experienced across your organisation in the context of your values, your governance structures, your team dynamics and your regulatory context.

The review typically includes structured conversations with senior and middle leaders, review of leadership meetings, observation and document review, and a written report with clear findings and strategic recommendations. A culture review typically takes four to six weeks from initial scoping to final report. It gives you a foundation to build from – whether that’s through a Strategic Leadership Partnership, a Leadership Development Programme, or simply knowing where to focus next.

The Culture Review is available as a standalone piece of work and is priced according to the size and complexity of your organisation (typical pricing sits around £1750). Get in touch to discuss scope and investment.

Structured development for the leaders who hold your organisation together.

Middle managers and senior leaders in care carry enormous responsibility. They’re often promoted because they’re brilliant practitioners – not because they’ve had any formal preparation for leading people. The Lumina Leadership Development Programme addresses this directly.

This is a structured, cohort-based programme designed for senior and middle leaders in health and social care. It develops the skills, confidence and behaviours that translate directly into better-led services: clearer communication, stronger supervision, more consistent accountability, and the ability to lead under pressure without burning out.

The programme is built around your organisation’s values and context, not a generic framework. Sessions are practical, reflective and immediately applicable – grounded in the realities of leading in care rather than abstract leadership theory.
Delivered over a defined programme period, it combines group learning with individual reflection and can be integrated with 1:1 coaching or the Lumina Leadership Circle for a more sustained impact.

The Leadership Development Programme is available to organisations with an existing leadership team ready to develop. It can be delivered as a standalone programme or as part of a Strategic Leadership Partnership. Pricing is scoped according to cohort size and programme length, starting at £250pp (with minimum numbers per cohort) get in touch to talk through what’s right for your team.

This is a 12 month strategic advisory relationship, focused on leadership culture and meeting the criteria to be Well Led within the CQC remit. Typically, this suits a provider with multiple homes or community services where the CEO or Registered Manager can see that leadership needs developing, accountability needs tightening, and culture needs embedding more consistently across services. You are not in crisis, but you want to move from coping to confident, aligned and sustainable leadership.

The partnership offers structured monthly strategic support. This includes dedicated time with the CEO or senior leader to review priorities, delegation and cultural signals, alongside facilitated leadership development sessions that strengthen supervision quality, accountability rhythms and values-led behaviours. Over time this results in clearer leadership structures, more confident middle managers, reduced reactive firefighting and greater cultural consistency: supporting improved retention, stability and regulatory confidence.

The programme is delivered through a blend of Director/Board level advisory space, senior team facilitation, group leadership programmes and may potentially also include targeted executive coaching and cultural alignment work. It’s about evidencing values, living those values, and carrying them through every layer of the team; supporting better retention, reduced disciplinary pressures and lower sickness absence; reducing a lot of those pressures that managers face alone. It’s not pure consultancy. It’s not pure coaching. I don’t do crisis-turnaround – this is long-term deep work around strategy and culture.

Strategic leadership partnerships are priced according to the scope and scale of your organisation, ranging from £490 per month for lighter-touch support, the typical contract sits around £2000pm but all engagements are scoped individually — get in touch to discuss what’s right for you.

This is available as a standalone offer to senior leaders in the care sector, or as part of a broader Leadership Partnership (as detailed above). It offers peer-based strategic thinking time and accountability, led by somebody who’s managed outstanding services. The circle meets monthly and includes action learning sets and group coaching. The fee to be a member of the circle is £145 per person per month.

As with Leadership Circle membership, this is available either as a standalone offer or integrated into a Strategic Leadership Partnership package. Executive coaching offers tailored support to help develop deeper leadership skills: critical and strategic thinking; influence on others; and tools to transform self-criticism. These sessions offer a structured opportunity to explore challenges, strengthen confidence, and align your leadership with your values and goals. The fee for executive coaching packages starts at £990 for three months of 1:1 support.

Both the Leadership Circle and 1:1 Coaching with Claire can help you to:

  • Build confidence in your leadership
  • Improve communication and influence
  • Strengthen team relationships with practical strategies for delegation and better morale and engagement
  • Enhance self-awareness and build better boundaries
  • Create space for strategic thinking and reflection

02

We scope the work together

If we decide to move forward, we’ll take the time to understand exactly what your organisation needs. That might mean starting with a Culture Review to get a clear picture of where you are, or it might mean moving directly into a Leadership Partnership, Development Programme or coaching engagement. There’s no fixed formula — the right starting point depends on you, your organisation and what you’re trying to achieve. I’ll be straightforward with you about what I think will make the most difference.

03

The work begins

Once we’ve agreed on scope, approach and timescales, we get started. However we’re working together — whether that’s a strategic partnership, a development programme, the Leadership Circle or 1:1 coaching — I’ll be a consistent, committed presence throughout. You’ll have clarity on what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how we’ll know it’s working.

04

Results that last

This isn’t about a quick intervention that fades once I’m gone. Everything I do is designed to build capability and embed change within your organisation so that it holds — under pressure, through transitions, and over time. You’ll see the difference in your people, your culture, and your regulatory confidence.
